As an employer we strive for the most diverse workforce possible to help us achieve our goals. Ultimately we want all employees to have a sense of belonging in an environment where everyone appreciates what diversity adds to our workplace. Read more about how our employees get involved with promoting our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion work below in the Equality Street Section.
Our Gender & Ethnicity Pay Gap report along with internal employee surveys are vital to helping us understand the composition of our workforce and potential barriers so we can be proactive to help reduce any under representation.
We are Inclusive partners with BME Jobs, Disability Jobs & LGBT and work with them to ensure our roles are seen by a diverse range of people. We are also proud partners with The Disability Confident Scheme which supports employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to our workplace.
Equality Street are a group of employees who aim to raise awareness throughout Jigsaw Homes Group of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and protected characteristics (e.g. age, race, disability).
Highlighted topics have included race, hidden disabilities, sexual orientation and gender. We have gathered information from employees using surveys to highlight if any employee has been discriminated against due to a protected characteristic, written many articles for our internal communication News Piece and organised Time to Talk sessions where employees can join a Zoom call and connect with colleagues to discuss topical subjects.
We run awareness events such as visits to places of Faith (Churches, Mosques), participated in raising funds for The Guide Dogs, sent educational packs to Soweto in Africa, had a float in the Manchester Pride Parade, plus many more!
The group meet every six to eight weeks on Zoom and we are always looking for new members who want to be actively engaged in helping us to raise awareness throughout the Group.
